In 2006-2007, almost 350,000 pairs of eyeglasses were sent to New Eyes for the Needy from thousands of caring individuals, civic organizations, and opticians. Each donor has a different story to tell.

The Millburn Lions Club maintained several metal collection boxes. For the First Baptist Church in California, "Gathering the glasses is now an ongoing project with special emphasis at Vacation Bible School time. We realize how much good they can do."

Salvatore collected 300 pairs to become an Eagle Scout.
