Dispensers do not have to be pre-registered to participate in our program. Dispensers new to our program should follow the reimbursement instructions included in Memo for Optical Professionals. New Eyes will assign a Dispenser Number upon receipt of the first reimbursement request.
Our reimbursement rates are shown on the right side of a New Eyes blue and white voucher (PDF). Dispensers may contact New Eyes to request approval for services not listed on the voucher or to request an extension of a voucher expiration date.
New Eyes does not endorse the purchase of more costly glasses at a client's additional expense, because the intent of our program is to help those most in need. Clients who have sufficient resources to supplement our voucher should not be eligible for our program.
Corporate-owned Wal-Mart Vision Centers are now providing eyeglasses to New Eyes' clients. Because this is a relatively new program, some Wal-Mart Vision Centers may be unfamiliar with the procedures to follow to receive reimbursement. For additional information, Wal-Mart Vision Centers should check the listing for New Eyes for the Needy in the B.O.S.S. system, contact Wal-Mart's Optical Insurance Hotline, or call New Eyes at 973-376-4903.
| Recycling Used Eyeglasses |
New Eyes recycles eyeglasses for distribution to poor people in developing nations. We appreciate all donations of used or new eyeglasses, demos, paired lenses, or frames. All donations are tax-deductible. Click here to learn more about our recycling program.
